

The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Oyo State Chapter, Rev. (Dr.) Elisha Olukayode Ogundiya,(JP) has paid a pastoral and fraternal visit to Gethsemane Prayer Ministries International, Ibadan, Oyo State in a move aimed at strengthening a robust collaboration, relationship and fellowship with the ministry.


He was accompanied by his predecessor, Apostle (Colonel) Joshua Akinyemiju Rtd.

The visit was marked by prayers, words of encouragement and renewed calls for unity within the body of Christ.
Rev. Dr. Ogundiya was warmly received by the General Overseer of the Ministry, Rev’d (Dr) Moses Aransiola, his wife Pastor (Mrs) Funmi Aransiola and senior ministers, who expressed deep appreciation for the CAN chairman’s presence at the end of the year thanksgiving service.
Speaking during the visit, Rev. Dr. Ogundiya described the church as a vital spiritual platform committed to prayer, holiness and intercession for members, the state and the nation at large.
He commended the ministry’s consistent emphasis on prayer and spiritual revival, noting that such assignments are crucial at a time when Nigeria is in dire need of divine intervention, peace and moral reawakening.
“This is my first time of coming to this church, though I have been in Ibadan for over 20 years. I am from Itesiwaju Local Government area of Oyo State, and I said it on our election and Inauguration day that we will ensure unity and collaboration such that will advance the activities of Churches and Christian bodies across the state.”
The CAN chairman charged members to remain steadfast in faith, united in purpose and committed to righteousness, stressing that the strength of Church lies in love, unity and obedience to the teachings of Christ. He also urged ministers of the gospel to continue to uphold sound doctrine and lead with integrity, humility and compassion.
Rev. Dr. Ogundiya further reiterated CAN’s commitment in Oyo State to fostering cooperation with Gethsemane Prayer Ministries International and other churches, defending Christian values and engaging constructively with other stakeholders for the promotion of peace and good governance.
In his welcome address, the General Overseer of the Ministry, Rev’d (Dr) Moses Aransiola thanked the CAN chairman for finding time to visit the Ministry despite his tight schedule.
He described the visit as a great honour and a source of spiritual encouragement to the church, assuring him of their continuous prayers and support for CAN’s leadership and activities in the state.
Rev’d Aransiola admonished the CAN Chairman to factor Gethsemane Prayer Ministries into the activities and operations of the association in the state.
