
Oyo State government has approved a sum of #235 billion for the construction of the 2nd Lot of the Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja Circular Road measuring 39 kilometers.
This was disclosed by the State’s Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola during the 16th State Executive Council briefing held Thursday at the Governor’s Media Briefing Room, Secretariat, Ibadan.
Speaking at the briefing, Mogbonjubola said the Seyi Makinde led administration was committed to ensuring the completion of the second phase of the circular road within the next 18 months before leaving office
The Commissioner noted that the government has also approved rehabilitation of inner roads in Ogbomosho costing the state a sum of 55 billion naira.
Also speaking, Commissioner for Energy, Professor Dahud Shangodoyin said the government approved solar lighting on Orita-Aperin to Olorunsogo for nightfall illumination, as well as back up energy source to include solar and hybrid generators on Onipepeye, Odogbo Barracks with a sum of #348 million and #231 million naira respectively.
Other approvals according to the duo of the State Commissioner for Health , Dr Olorunserimi Ajetumobi and Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Mr Akin- Funmilayo Williams,includes #389 million naira for beddings across the 58 secondary healthcare facilities in the state and the approval for the operations of the Ikara Farms SPV at Ilero in Oke- Ogun area of the State by a private investor
According to Akin- Funmilayo, the Farms which is expected to commence operations soon will create about 100, O00 direct and indirect jobs thereby boosting food production in the state.
