Abducted JCI Ibadan Elite President, Ibukun Otesile, Regains Freedom After Negotiated Ransom Demand of N50m

The abducted President of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Ibadan Elite, Mrs. Ibukun Otesile, has regained her freedom and reunited with her family days after she was kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

Mrs. Otesile was abducted last Thursday evening outside her residence in the Akobo area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, sparking widespread concern among family members, colleagues, and the community.

According to reports, the abductors initially demanded a ransom of ₦50 million for her release. However, a reliable family source disclosed that the amount was later negotiated down to ₦10 million.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, expressed relief over her safe return. “I am not too sure of the details surrounding her release, but I am happy that she is now reunited with her family,” the source said.

As of the time of filing this report, security agencies have not issued an official statement regarding the circumstances of her release or whether any arrests were made.
