Oyo ADC Appoints Ayo Akinyemi as Chairman, Contact & Mobilisation Committee …As Party Inaugurates Special Duty Committees In Ibadan

The Oyo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has officially inaugurated its Special Duty Committees, with Comrade Ayo Akinyemi, a former staunch member of the Oyo State Labour Party, appointed and sworn in as the Chairman of the Contact and Mobilization Committee of the party

The event held on Wednesday at the ADC State Secretariat, Ibadan.

The inauguration, presided over by the State Chairman, Alhaji Olayinka Olona, marked a renewed commitment by the party to strengthen its grassroots structure, expand its reach, and mobilize deeply across all political zones of Oyo State as preparations intensify ahead of the forthcoming electoral engagements.

The Contact and Mobilization Committee has been saddled with the responsibility of
establishing and strengthening the party’s presence across all 33 local government areas of the state

It also has the mandate to expand the party’s membership base through strategic engagement with community leaders, youth groups, professionals, artisans, women groups, religious stakeholders, and political blocs.

Other mandates of the committee are ; building alliances with like-minded progressive movements, who share the same values of accountability, people-centered leadership, and new political culture, ensure continuous sensitization, political education, and grassroots communication to boost the party’s visibility and acceptability and the reawakening the party structures at ward and local government levels to prepare for upcoming political activities

Speaking after his inauguration, Comrade Ayo Akinyemi expressed profound appreciation to the State Chairman and the entire State Executive Committee for finding him worthy of such a strategic responsibility.

He described the appointment as “a call to service, sacrifice, and dedicated engagement with the people across the 33 Local Government Areas of Oyo State.”

Comrade Ayo Akinyemi noted that the task ahead is enormous but achievable through unity, cooperation, and hard work.

He said : “This assignment requires courage, consistency, and commitment. We will reach every community, every ward, and every local government in Oyo State. Our team is ready to deliver a new wave of political mobilization that resonates with the people’s desire for credible leadership. We will work hand-in-hand with the ADC family and collaborate with progressive forces—especially the vibrant Obidient Movement whose values align with ours—to ensure a stronger, more united political front in Oyo State.”

He further assured that the committee will operate with transparency, openness, and inclusiveness, emphasizing that “no member of ADC will be left behind.”

In his closing remarks, Akinyemi thanked the party leadership for believing in his “wealth of influence, experience, and capacity to deliver outstanding results,” while pledging unwavering loyalty to the party structure and its development agenda.

The newly inaugurated Chairman used the opportunity to call on all ADC members, supporters, and political partners across Oyo State to work collectively toward strengthening the party’s grassroots machinery, emphasizing that the success of the committee depends on the active cooperation of ward leaders, LGA chairmen, federal constituency coordinators, and every committed member of the ADC family.

“Together, we will reposition ADC as the home of progressive minds, bridge-builders, and visionary leaders ready to serve the people of Oyo State with dignity and integrity,” he said.

Other Committees inaugurated are; Fund Raising Committee, Membership Registration Committee, Accomodation and Logistics ( Transport) Committee, Security and Protocol Committee and Publicity and Communication Committee.
