
Ikere- Ekiti born philanthropist, Harrison Olaniyi Alonge (HOA), has reiterated his commitment to supporting good governance in Ekiti State, urging members of the All Progressives Congress (APC )to rally behind the incumbent Governor of the state, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) to ensure his re-election in the forthcoming governorship poll in the state.
He gave the charge at the weekend during the Ikere Ekiti Ward Delegate Congress aimed at electing delegates who will vote for the re-election of Governor Oyebanji, BAO as the party’s flagbearer
In a release by his media aide, Comrade Olawale Ogunyebi, Alonge, who was among other chieftains of the APC in the area, urged the party faithful to be united and committed to ensuring continuity of the good governance currently being witnessed in the state
The France-based business mogul also urged members to maintain peace during and after the electioneering process.
He donated a substantial amount of money to the entire Ikere LGA, comprising 11 wards.
Alonge expressed gratitude to the APC members in Ikere, particularly Edemo Ward, for for their support for Governor Oyebanji’s second term bid
In his remarks, the leader of the APC in Edemo Ward,Hon Babade Kayode described Alonge as an illustrious son of Ikere just as he lauded his philanthropic efforts.
Babade, appreciated Alonge’s support and urged members to back Governor Oyebanji’s re-election bid.
He also announced a cash donation to support the delegates election in Edemo Ward.
The ward delegates affirmed their support for Governor Oyebanji’s re-election bid assuring him of their unalloyed loyalty.
Officials of INEC, members of the press, security agents and electoral committee officials were on ground to monitor the congress.
Meanwhile,the Chairman, Ikere Local Government, Hon. Olu Adamolekun had earlier introduced Mr Harrison Olaniyi Alonge (HOA) to the Ward, describing him as a pillar of support to the party financially.
The party leaders pray for Alonge success in his political endeavor.
Leaders at the congress include; Chairman of Edemo Ward, Mr Oshamele,, the Eleyinmi of Ikere Kingdom, High Chief Coker Alonge and Mr S.S Kayode among other prominent political gladiators.
