Oyo PDP reelects Dayo Ogungbenro as party chairman … As Makinde tasks new exco to ensure total success for party in 2027 general election

‎The Oyo State chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has reelected Honourable Dayo Ogungbenro as its chairman.

‎Chairman, Electoral Panel Committee of the Party, Senator Austin Akobundu, affirmed re-election of Honourable Ogungbenro while declaring the results of the party congress held at Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

‎Senator Akobundu also announced Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke and Joel Oyelami as Deputy Chairman and State Secretary of the Party respectively.

‎He added that Mrs. Toyin Olawumi was elected as the Women Leader, while Kazeem Bello emerged as the Youth Leader.

‎In his acceptance speech, the newly elected chairman, Honourable Dayo Ogungbenro, said the party members in the state will remain focused, adding that the new executive members would consolidate the good performance of governor seyi Makinde.

‎In his address ,Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde tasked the newly elected executive members of to ensure that the party wins all political seats in the 2027 general election.

‎The Governor described the exercise as a process to ensure that the PDP remains in power beyond 2027 and charged party members to give the new executive members their support to deliver the offices of the presidency to the least political office for the party.

‎Governor Makinde prayed that the party would not labor in vain and assured every member of the party of dividends of democracy.‎Earlier, the Chairman of the Electoral Panel Committee, Senator Austin Akobundu, had charged delegates to cooperate with the arrangements.

‎A total of 4,050 delegates across the state participated in the congress, which elected executive members to run the affairs of the party for the next four years.
