The Rotary Club of Olambe, District 9112, has successfully hosted its Membership Seminar on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Legacy B Motel and Resource Center, Osaro Akute, Ogun State.
Organized by the Club’s Membership Committee, the seminar was aimed at strengthening Rotarians’ membership development skills, expanding Rotary’s reach within local communities, and sustaining the club’s monthly membership engagement initiative.
With the theme “Growing Membership in Rotary,” the event commenced at 11:30 a.m. and was declared open by the Unite for Good President, Rotarian Fidelis Fasuyi, who appreciated the facilitator, Past District Governor (PDG) Kola Shodipo, alongside Rotarians, Rotaractors, and participants for their dedication and presence.
Delivering the keynote address, PDG Shodipo, a seasoned facilitator from District 9112, shared inspiring insights on Rotary membership growth and sustainability. He stressed that successful membership development rests on three pillars: attraction, retention, and engagement.
He further outlined practical strategies such as empathy-driven engagement, quality recruitment, effective mentorship, befitting induction ceremonies, prompt involvement of new Rotarians, recognition through member citations, organizing Rotary family fellowship events, inviting friends to impactful Rotary programmes, and conducting club membership surveys. These, he noted, are vital for strengthening Rotary’s vibrancy and impact.
The seminar featured an interactive question-and-answer session, where participants engaged deeply with the key points. Other highlights included the formal introduction of attendees, appreciation remarks, and the presentation of an award to PDG Shodipo by Rotarian Fasuyi and Membership Chair, Rotarian ESV Modeyin Bayo Kingsley.
The United Secretary delivered the vote of thanks, after which the programme ended with a photo session, networking, and fellowship.
Closing at about 2:00 p.m., the seminar was widely regarded as a memorable and impactful event that reinforced unity, camaraderie, and a renewed commitment to Rotary’s mission.
