The President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth, Oyo state chapter Chief Wilfred Madu has posited that a four year single tenure is enough for the Labour Party Presidential candidate in 2023 General election Peter Obi to effect the right changes in Nigeria if voted to power.
Making this submission in Ibadan Chief Madu who doubles as the Chairman Aniocha/ Njikoka local government town union meeting in Ibadan as well Chairman Ekotedo/ Iya-olobe Igbo Traders Association said Obi is a man of his words given his antecedents.
He explained that the former Labour Party Presidential candidate is reputed to be trustworthy and straightforward noting what he said is what he is going to do as he is known to keep his words.
The Oyo Ohanaeze Youth boss said further that four year single tenure is enough for anyone who knows what to do to bring the desired changes stressing that the idea of a two tenure for every President in power does not mean he will perform.
“ Four year is okay for Peter Obi to change things just like he did in Anambra state as Governor where he brought remarkable changes in education, transport, infrastructure and the economy among others “ he revealed.
He submitted that nothing negative such as hatred or violence against the Igbo in the south west will occur as this is politics where the most popular candidate can win irrespective of tribe or religion pointing out that the votes of the south east and the north is enough to make Obi win not minding that he is equally going to get large votes in places like Lagos and Abuja to be moderate.
“ I foresee Obi winning the next election because of his popularity and the situation of the economy where most Nigerians who are in the average are finding it very difficult to make ends meet “ Chief Madu observed “ Things are so tough to the extent that the business climate is not clement at all as to encourage profit making and the proliferation of economic activities “
“ In this type of situation, most Nigerians want changes in the economy and well being and not regression and this is what we make them go for Obi because of his antecedents where he did well in Anambra state as Governor while in the saddle “ he concluded.
