
Members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), 2025 Batch B Stream 1 in Oyo State have been charged to embrace values of integrity, hard work, and respect for cultural diversity and peaceful coexistence to prepare them for nation building

The charge was given by the state Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde while presiding over the Swearing-In Ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 Orientation Exercise and officially declared the course open which held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ogbakuta, Iseyin.
Represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honourable Wasilat Adegoke, the Governor welcomed the Corps Members to the Pacesetter State, declaring that the government remained committed to ensuring that their service year is peaceful, purposeful, and impactful.
He mentioned that the Corps Members are considered as partners in progress while urging them to be agents of development wherever they are posted.
Speaking on the orientation programme, Makinde encouraged the Corps Members to make most of it the activities they will undertake during this period, designed to shape their perspective, instil discipline, and prepare them for the tasks ahead.
“Dear Corps Members, as you take the Oath of Allegiance today, remember that this is a call to serve your country with loyalty, to uplift the communities you are sent to, and to leave a lasting legacy of development and unity”
He concluded by assuring that the Oyo State Government, in partnership with NYSC, will continue to support initiatives that ensure their safety, welfare, and empowerment, and hinted that he has directed all relevant agencies and stakeholders to treat their concerns with utmost priority.
“Your security is a matter we take seriously, and I assure you that all necessary measures have been put in place to protect you throughout your service year” he noted.
In his introductory speech, the State Coordinator, NYSC Oyo, Mr. Kayode Ola Peters expressed profound gratitude to the Governor Seyi Makinde, for his unwavering support for the NYSC Scheme in Oyo State.
He said government’s efforts under the leadership of the Governor have contributed significantly to the first-class welfare enjoyed by Corps members in the Pacesetter State.
Kayode told the Corps members that they must participate in all camp activities as they are designed to prepare them for post-camp and post-service realities, making them self-reliant and well-rounded as well as participating diligently in these activities which are crucial for their development.
High points of the event were the administration of oath of Allegiance on the Corps Members and tug of war displayed by Man O’ war Corps Members
