LASU, Global Fans Set to Celebrate Legacy of Late Kennery Legend, Dr. Orlando Owoh, on November 8 in Lagos

Lagos State University (LASU), in collaboration with the Chief (Dr) Orlando Owoh Global Fans and Related Affairs, will host a grand celebration in honour of the late highlife and Kennery music icon, Chief (Dr) Oladipupo Owomoyela, popularly known as Orlando Owoh, on November 8, 2025, at the Blue Roof, LTV 8 premises, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos.

The event, tagged “Orlando Owoh Day”, aims to honour and preserve the enduring legacy of the revered Kennery music maestro. 

According to a press statement issued by his son, Orimipe Olusesi Owomoyela—who also serves as the President of the Global Fans Group—the programme is designed to celebrate the musical contributions and cultural impact of the late icon.

The week-long series of events will begin with a Remembrance Day on November 4, 2025, at the late musician’s residence, located at No. 6 Kareem Oyelade Street, Agege, Lagos.

This will be followed by a lecture and press conference at the Music and Theatre Hall, Lagos State University, on November 6, 2025.

The grand finale will take place on November 8, 2025, at the Blue Roof Hall, LTV 8, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos, by 12 noon.

Dignitaries expected at the event include the Chairman of the occasion, former Osun State Governor, Prince (Dr) Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and the Royal Father of the Day, Oba Francis Ola Apata, the Olupe of Ipe in Ondo State.

Also expected in attendance are the Deputy President of the Orlando Owoh Global Fans, Mr. Jacob Akinola, alongside other prominent personalities, music lovers, and captains of industry.

The organizers have called for sponsorships and support from stakeholders, promising an unforgettable celebration of music, culture, and legacy in honour of one of Nigeria’s most beloved musical legends.
