A group under the aegis, Agenda of Yoruba Reconciliation and Integration, (AYURI) has lauded the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his outstanding performance in the last six years of his administration.
The group in a statement signed its Secretary General, Bishop Adegbolagun Ademola George, noted that Governor Makinde in the last six years has positively touched the people and improved every sector of the economy in fulfilment of his electioneering promises.
“We, the Agenda of Yoruba Reconciliation and Integration (AYURI), extend our warmest congratulations to you on your 6th year in office as the Governor of Oyo State. We thank God for His grace and favor that has enabled you to navigate the complexities of governance with wisdom and integrity.
“Your tenure has been marked by remarkable achievements in various sectors, including health, infrastructure, Agriculture, education, security, among others.
“Your administration has maintained a relatively peaceful environment, conducive to economic growth and development as well as, education. Your government has demonstrated high commitment to improving the education sector, with a focus on enhancing the quality of all the sectors and access to educational opportunities.
“In health, your administration has made significant strides in improving healthcare delivery, with a focus on primary healthcare and emergency medical services, social welfare and implemention of various social welfare programmes aimed at supporting the vulnerable and marginalized members of society.
On the payment of workers’ salaries, Bishop Adegbolagun George said Governor Seyi Makinde administration has consistently prioritized the payment of workers’ salaries, ensuring that civil servants and other public sector employees receive their remuneration on time and as at when due, adding that his administration has done so well on the payment of retirees’ allowances and gratuities
“Your government has also demonstrated commitment to honoring the rights of retired workers, ensuring that they receive their allowances and gratuities as and when due.
“We commend your government’s efforts in promoting payment of workers’ salaries and retired workers’ allowances and gratuities, which has brought relief to many families. Your leadership has shown a strong commitment to the welfare of workers and retirees, and this is truly commendable.
“Furthermore, we appreciate your government’s efforts in engaging with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) as dependable and trusted partners in the formulation and implementation of policies. Your administration’s willingness to collaborate with these organizations has been instrumental in driving development and promoting social welfare in Oyo State.
“As you continue in office, we encourage you to build on the progress made so far and focus on areas that require further attention, such as education for the Vulnerable and others.
“We urge you to continue prioritizing education for the vulnerable members of society, ensuring that every child has access to quality education, We aksoy encourage you to invest more in the agricultural sector, which has the potential to drive economic growth and development in Oyo State.
Also, we urge you to explore ways to provide affordable accommodation options for low-income earners and the masses, which will help to improve their living standards.
Bishop Adegbolagun commended the resilience and commitment of the Commissioners, Special Advisers, and Executive Assistants, who have worked tirelessly to ensure the success of Governor Makinde’s administration, adding that their efforts have been instrumental in driving progress and promoting development in Oyo State.
“Finally, we appreciate your efforts in fostering unity among the Yoruba leaders and Yoruba land. Your leadership has brought people together, promoting a sense of unity and shared purpose.
