Fellow Nigerians,

Responsive Image

There comes a time in the life of a nation when it must confront its own reflection in the mirror—unflinchingly, unapologetically, and with the courage to change. That time is now.

The recent disgraceful conviction of two high-profile Nigerians on American soil for fraudulently siphoning COVID-19 relief funds is not just another sad headline. It is a thunderous alarm—a loud, shameful reminder that Nigeria’s problems are deeper than political structures or economic policies. At the heart of our national crisis is a moral collapse—a cancerous erosion of integrity that has metastasized across our public and private life.

But let’s be clear: Nigeria does not just need political restructuring. And neither can we fix the nation by preaching integrity alone.

We need both.

We need integrity and restructuring—together—as the double-barrel shotgun to shoot down the twin evils of corruption and dysfunction.

Barrel One: Integrity—the Soul of a Nation

Without integrity, leadership becomes tyranny, public service becomes personal empire-building, and democracy becomes a mockery. Integrity is the moral compass that guides vision, enforces accountability, and preserves trust. Yet today in Nigeria, we have normalized dishonesty, rewarded criminality, and enthroned mediocrity.

The moral fall of these two Nigerians abroad is not isolated—it is symptomatic. It reflects a society where success is measured by how much you can steal, not how much you can serve. It is the outcome of a culture that celebrates the flashy over the honest, the powerful over the principled.

That is why I am proud to launch a national moral reawakening movement anchored on the book and campaign titled:

“LIVING WITH INTEGRITY: PAVING THE ETHICAL PATHWAY TO A FLOURISHING SOCIETY.”

This is not a sermon. This is a strategy—a grassroots revolution that aims to restore truth, transparency, justice, and character to our national DNA. From schools to places of worship, markets to ministries, campuses to communities, we will awaken the ethical spirit of Nigeria.

Barrel Two: Restructuring—the Skeleton of the Nation

While integrity is the soul, restructuring is the skeleton. It is the structural framework upon which justice, development, and equity must rest. No matter how upright a person may be, if the system is skewed, the best intentions will fail.

Restructuring means building a truly federal Nigeria—a Nigeria where power, responsibilities, and resources are decentralized and balanced to reflect our diversity. It means giving states the autonomy to thrive and compelling accountability at every level of governance.

But here’s the bitter truth: You can’t successfully restructure Nigeria without first restructuring the Nigerian mind.

A corrupt mind will hijack any system, no matter how well designed. An unethical leader will manipulate any constitution, no matter how just. That’s why integrity must walk hand in hand with restructuring. One without the other is like pouring clean water into a dirty container.

Two Triggers, One Goal: A Flourishing Nigeria

Integrity without restructuring is idealism without impact.

Restructuring without integrity is engineering without a foundation.

Together, they are the two triggers that must be pulled to activate Nigeria’s true potential.

The Living with Integrity campaign will be both a compass and a catalyst. We will tell real stories, highlight ethical leaders, expose moral failures, and mobilize a movement for national rebirth. It will challenge our youth to redefine success. It will provoke our elders to reflect. It will compel our leaders to act.

This is more than a campaign. It is a clarion call. A movement of patriots, reformers, and visionaries who believe that Nigeria can rise—not just economically, but ethically.

Let the disgrace of the corrupt be our wake-up call. Let our shame be turned into strength. Let every Nigerian, from the high office to the humble home, embrace this double cure: integrity and restructuring.

This is how we reclaim our name. This is how we rebuild our future.

Enough is enough. The time to fire both barrels is now.
