Chieftain of New Nigeria Peoples Party, (NNPP) and businessman, in Oyo State, Dr. Yinka Folahan, has urged Nigerians to seek divine intervention for the country’s recovery and return to global relevance.
Dr. Folahan, a former factional leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Oyo State, made the call during the celebration of his 57th birthday. He encouraged citizens not to lose hope but to turn to God in the face of the nation’s persistent challenges.
“There is still hope for Nigeria. We must not give up,” he stated. “Since independence, the country has faced various issues that have hindered its socio-economic progress. At this point in our national life, I urge Nigerians to collectively seek God’s face. It is clear that human effort alone is not enough. The time has come to return to God for divine intervention.”
Dr. Folahan, who also was former Caretaker Committee Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Ekiti State, expressed optimism that the nation could still overcome its difficulties through united spiritual efforts.
Reflecting on his birthday, Dr. Folahan expressed profound gratitude to God for the gift of life. “I owe God Almighty immense gratitude for sparing my life to witness another birthday,” he said. “I also appreciate the prayers and support from my friends and family.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to contributing to the growth and development of Nigeria, particularly in Oyo State.
Aside from his political career, Dr. Folahan is an accomplished playwright, known for works such as Agbekoya, Restless, King Must Die, and Oshodi. Over the decades, he has held various roles in both politics and business, consistently advocating for good governance and grassroots development.
Dr. Folahan is also the CEO of Tigolf Travels and YBF Properties. Through Foundation International, he supports vulnerable groups across the country, further demonstrating his dedication to philanthropy and community service.
