Olu of Ileogbo Calls for Development Initiatives

The Olu of Ileogbo, Osun State, Oba Abeeb Adetoyese Agbaje Arowookunjoye II, has urged the Osun State Government to establish educational institutions such as a polytechnic or university and to upgrade the local maternity centre to a standard hospital.

In an interview at his palace, the monarch stated, “Our community deserves quality education and healthcare facilities. Establishing a university or polytechnic will empower our youth and uplift the entire region.”

He emphasised the necessity for urgent repairs on all damaged roads leading to Ileogbo, saying, “The state of our roads affects our daily lives and the economy. We need immediate action to ensure safe passage for our people.”

Oba Agbaje also highlighted his achievements in fostering unity and development within the community, adding that: “I am proud of the peace we maintain in Ileogbo. The establishment of the Ileogbo Football Club has not only provided entertainment but also a platform for our youth to showcase their talents.”

He discussed his collaboration with Engr. Lanre Leke, the CEO of Peculiar Consult, on the development of the Lanre Leke Sports Stadium.

“This stadium is a dream come true for our young athletes. It offers them a place to train and compete,” he said.

The monarch noted the importance of education, stating, “We have successfully facilitated the establishment of both private and public schools, “Education is the foundation for a better future.”

He also mentioned the agro-farm settlement that employs over 2,000 youths, adding, “This initiative has created jobs and provided a sustainable livelihood for many families.”

Oba Agbaje expressed gratitude to local and federal representatives for their support, saying, “Their contributions have been invaluable to our progress.”

He called for renovations of the palace and the installation of a solar-powered center, emphasising, “These improvements will enhance the dignity of our kingdom.”

On the occasion of his 15th anniversary on the throne, he reaffirmed his commitment to his people, stating, “I will continue to work tirelessly for the betterment of Ileogbo.”

He, however, urged the government to consider a local tree that could become a tourist attraction, concluding, “We have natural resources that can draw visitors and boost our economy. Let’s not overlook their potential.”
