In a landmark effort to promote leadership, service, and youth engagement, the Rotary Club of Olambe has successfully hosted the organizing  meeting for the proposed Interact Club of Keredolu Community Secondary School in Akure Region.

The historic meeting, which was called to order at about  2:30 p.m on Thursday, March 5, 2025

commenced  with an opening  prayer led by one of the prospective Interactors, setting a reflective and purpose-driven tone for the gathering.

Participants were then taken through a well-structured orientation session, where they learned about the different categories of Rotary-sponsored clubs—Rotary, Rotaract, and Interact—with a special focus on the Interact Club.

Key points discussed included the expectations from members, the values of community service, and the many opportunities Interactors stand to gain, including leadership training, networking, personal development, and participation in national and international programs.

As a testimony to the power of the orientation, a remarkable total of 47 students expressed their interest and registered as prospective Interactors, showcasing strong enthusiasm and commitment to service.

The meeting also featured the charter election of the club’s pioneer executive officers, which resulted in the emergence of Miss Ariyo Fatia – Charter President as First Female President.

Other elected members include Mr. Ayoade Joseph – Charter Treasurer, and Miss Esther Oguntade – Charter Secretary (First Female Secretary)

Furthermore, it was established that the Interact Club will hold its meetings twice monthly—every 1st and 3rd Thursday—with a scheduled time of 2:00 p.m. for 2:30 p.m. The official date for the chartering ceremony will be communicated ahead of time.

It was also noted during the meeting that the Rotary Club of Olambe, as the sponsoring club, will monitor the growth and development of the Interact Club.

Meanwhile, plans are already in motion to organize regular leadership training programs and mentoring sessions to ensure that the members are adequately equipped for impact-driven service and personal growth.

Closing remarks and inspiring advice were delivered by Rotaractor Segun Ajao, Past Assistant Governor Niyi Ajao, and the Irresistible President of Rotary Club of Olambe, Rotn ESV Modeyin Bayo Kingsley, who charged the students to stay focused, committed, and value-driven.

The meeting was brought to a close at exactly 3:00 p.m. with a closing prayer offered by the school’s Headmistress, sealing the day’s proceedings with gratitude and hope.

With this historic beginning, the Rotary Club of Olambe has ignited a new era of youth leadership and service in Akute.

The formation of the Interact Club of Keredolu Community Secondary School not only marks a first for the community but also lays the foundation for a generation of responsible, service-oriented future leaders.
