

The Nigeria Judo Federation will present a team at the forthcoming African Judo Championship slated for Abijain, Côte d’Ivoire on April 25 through 28, 2025.
According to a statement signed by the President of Nigeria Judo Federation,Dr Musa Oshodi, the body will depart for the championship on April 22 and will return on April 29, 2025.
To ensure a successful outing, the federation has camped 12 athletes and 4 officials at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State.
The NJF will also stage a mandatory refereeing seminar on April 30 through 30, 2025 at two different centers namely the MKO Abiola stadium for the northern zone and the Obafemi Awolowo stadium, Ile Ife , Osun State for the southern zone.
Dr Oshodi stated further that this is to enable their referees to be abreast of the current officiating trend in Judo world adding that this is to assess and re evaluate the status of coaches and referees to ensure that they are capable of featuring in the activities of the federation.
He informed that the participation in the African Judo Championship is to make the athletes to garner enough points in order to qualify for the Olympics games.
In view of this, the federation is soliciting the assistance of well meaning individuals and corporate bodies towards the successful hosting of the seminars besides featuring in the championship in Abijain, Cote Divoire.
