The President of Ohanaeze N Youth in Oyo state Chief Wilfred Madu has asked the President General of the body Chief Azuka Mbata to intervene in the crisis among Ndigbo in Oyo state.
Speaking recently in Ibadan, Chief Madu opined that the crisis in Ibadan is not good for the peace and development of Ndigbo in the state as it may finally lead to something bad for the entire Igbo.
He noted that he foresees trouble in the horizon because of what is happening which he referred to the quest of Ndigbo to be in the same party with the state government warning that this may spell boom for the Igbo in the event that another party different from the one in government comes on board.
The Ohanaeze Youth President observed that with the situation of things, Igbo might run into problem with the the next administration which he posited would be the opposition party adding that in this scenario Igbo lot would be similar to what obtains in Lagos state now where the Ndigbo are been given a raw deal because all of them were perceived to be in the Labour Party by government of Babajide Sanwo-Olu who is allegedly busy destroying their properties while looking the other side when some of them are been killed or maimed.
“ The way things are Ndigbo will be in trouble when a new government comes in to power and which is likely going to be the All Progressive Congress (APC) “ he predicted “ Adebayo Adelabu known as Penkelemesi is seriously warming up to take over because he is a boy to President Bola Tinubu and in this situation Ndigbo will be in serious problem like those in Lagos state “
He urged Ndigbo not to be in one party but strives to be be in many parties in order not to be perceived to be in one party because of the future. “ Let not put all our eggs in one basket because this can be dangerous for us in the future. We should spread our tentacles to other parties”
On the crisis among Ndigbo in the state just as in many states , Chief Madu implored Ohanaeze Ndigbo President General to personally intervene in the matter to save the situation so that everyone can be under one umbrella stressing that those forming parallel bodies outside the Igbo Community Development Association (ICDA) which is the mother body where all them broke away from should have a rethink and re trace their step so that Ndigbo will be united under one umbrella saying the way they are factionalized is not proper for peaceful growth and development.
