
Former Chairman of the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN), Oyo State Branch, Dr. Kehinde Adegoke, has congratulated the newly elected Chairman of the association, MLS Akinbile Adebola on her historic election as the State Chairperson for 2025–2028 tenure.


Dr. Adegoke, a renowned Immunisation expert and Public Health Specialist, who led the association between 2015 to 2018, said the election of MLS Akinbile Adebola was an act of God and the wish of the members of the association, adding that her emergence is a significant milestone in the history of the professional body in Oyo State.
The election was held today, 19th February 2025, during the Annual General Meeting/Election, which took place at Ibadan North East Local Government Secretariat Hall, Iwo Road, Ibadan.
According to him, the election of Adebola as the first female State Chairman is a testament to her dedication, quality leadership, and unwavering commitment to the advancement of medical laboratory science in the state.
“MLS Akinbile Adebola’s election is a well-deserved recognition of her contributions to the profession. Having served diligently as the immediate past Chairman of the AMLSN Oyo State Hospitals Management Board (OYSHMB) Chapter, as well as former State Financial Secretary and State Social/Welfare Officer, she brings a wealth of experience and a strong vision for the association’s future,” Adegoke stated.
Dr Adegoke also congratulated other newly elected executive officers, expressing confidence in their ability to drive the association forward. The new leadership team includes; Adewale Adetunji (UCH Chapter) – Vice Chairman, Ogunsola Yusuf Opeyemi (OYSPHCB Chapter) – State Secretary, Olukayode Sodipe (Nigerian Railway Hospital Medical Centre) – Assistant Secretary, Adeyanju Olateju (UCH Chapter) – Treasurer, Fasasi Abdulkabir Abiodun (OYSHMB Chapter) – Publicity Secretary, Akomolafe Busayo Kayode (OYSPHCB Chapter) – Auditor, Sanni Olayinka (OYSHMB Chapter) – Social/Welfare Officer and Adesope Taibat Pejuola (LTH Ogbomoso Chapter) – Financial Secretary
Adegoke while wishing the newly elected officers a fruitful and impactful tenure, urged them to uphold the values of professionalism, integrity, and service to humanity.
“I am confident that this new leadership team will work diligently to advance the interests of medical laboratory scientists in Oyo State. I pledge my continued support for the association at all levels and remain committed to its growth and success,” he affirmed.
The former AMLSN Oyo State Chairman also called on elders, leaders and all members of the association in the state to rally behind the new executives, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration in achieving collective goals for the profession.
