Resort to traditional religion to curb crimes and corruption, Says Odinana Chair

Chairman of the Odinana Movement and Onwa Ndigbo in Ibadan and Oyo State Chief Anthony Okeke has advocated the use of traditional means while adjudicating over crimes, criminality and swearing ceremonies. 

Chief Okeke who doubles as the Chief Priest of Ogwugwu Achuka shrine in Arondizuogu of Ideato local government of Imo state stated that when people swear on oath through tradition means , they would not commit any crime let alone engage in stealing.

He observed that this will curb theft and pilfering of public funds which is the common wealth of Nigerians by those who are in charge adding that Nigerians would manage public funds with care bearing in mind that they will die when they engage in looting or theft of public funds.

Chief Okeke who is also the President General of Ndi Awa kindred in Aro Ndizuogu noted that this will sanitize the country besides curbing corruption because people will know that when they engage in anything negative, death is the result.

He bemoaned the manner in which Nigerians have abandoned their traditional religions in favour of Christianity and Islam noting that this was a  ruse and subterfuge introduced by Britain, Nigeria’s colonial master to hoodwink Nigerians into abandoning the efficacious ways of life to what has brought a drastic erosion of our culture and traditions such that criminality and moral decadence are the order of the day.

Chief Okeke therefore enjoined
