Chairman of Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan Honorable Babatunde Olaniyan has revealed that the focus of the team is to win the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) .
Speaking in Ibadan, Honorable Olaniyan who was a Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly stated that the focus is the league given the position of the Oluyole Warriors in the league which is third behind Rivers United and Remo Stars of Port -harcourt and Ikenne respectively which are second and first positions in that order.
He posited that the worst the team expects is to come second or third at the end of the the day noting that all hands are on deck to ensure that this happens.
The Chairman stated further that the 1976 African Cup winners cup Champions are not bordered about the atmosphere surrounding the chances of the 1996 double champions .
“ We are not perturbed regarding our chances even though we know what the second stanza means to those of us in the league “ he said “ the situation is not peculiar to our team as it cuts across board as every team is involved”
“ If you mean do we have enough to prosecute our matches ? I would say yes because we have just done our budget for the year which we are about to submit “ he added.
“However, like I posited earlier, the focus is the league shield or coming second or worst so that we can play in the continent of Africa football competition which is either CAF Champions league or the CAF Cup next year. The former Oyo state Deputy Speaker explained.
