On Saturday, 24th October 2024, the Rotary Club of Olambe organized a highly impactful Rotary Family Health Day programme, bringing vital healthcare services to residents of Olambe and surrounding communities. This initiative aligns with Rotary International’s objective of promoting comprehensive, free, and sustainable health services, particularly for families unable to access or afford quality medical care.
The Programme catered for over 100 beneficiaries, offering essential health services such as: Immunizations, HIV testing and counseling, Malaria test and treatment, deworming and medication, Blood sugar and blood pressure tests, distribution of medications, mosquito nets, and sanitary pads
The event took place at a temporary health camp set up at the ADJ ICT Center.
The Rotaract Club of Olambe supported the initiative volunteering their members to ensure the smooth delivery of services.
In addition to medical tests, health counseling sessions were offered, empowering participants with knowledge to improve their well-being. The Programme aimed at strengthening local health services and improve access to preventive healthcare in the community.
The event would not have been successful without the collective effort of volunteers, including members of the Rotary Club of Olambe, the Rotaract Club of Olambe, staff from the ADJ ICT Center, and qualified healthcare personnel engaged from the local community.
Their commitment to service and dedication to Rotary’s focus on disease prevention, treatment, and maternal-child health was evident throughout the day.
This Rotary Family Health Day showcased the power of community partnerships and Rotary’s unwavering commitment to improving lives through meaningful health interventions.
