
Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has been described as leader with long standing and impactful legacies that would stand the test of time in the history of the state.
The Chairman, Oyo State Board for Technical Education and Vocational Studies, Elder Adekola Ayoade made the submission in an interview with Oodua News Newspaper in Ibadan.
Elder Ayoade said governor Makinde’s stride in the state since he assumed office in 2019 has been impactful and historical adding that his legacies will stand a test of time in the history of the state.
According to him, some of the legacies of governor Makinde that would remain relevant and indelible include infrastructural development, resuscitation of Fashola Farms which has become a hub of agriculture business in the state, massive development in the education sector, quality roads network across the state, prompt payment of salaries before the end of every month among others.
“Engr. Seyi Abiodun Makinde, has distinguished himself as a leader with impeccable qualities in transforming the state, he is indeed God sent to the people of Oyo State. His administration remains the best in the history of the state in terms of what he has done, and what he has achieved.
“Wether you want to look at it from his achievements in the education sector, health, agriculture, roads, human development and others, his achievements is massive, he has linked all the roads in all the geo political zones in the state for easy assess that make it easy to transport agricultural products and goods from the inter land to the people. He has achieved over 70 percent development in the state both in his Omititun 0.1 and 0.2 administration.”
Elder Ayoade who spoke on a wide range developmental progress of the governor said governor Makinde’s stride in education, agriculture, health, employment opportunity among others cannot be over emphasize, adding that these aforementioned sectors and others have been put into proper shape with good records.
The amiable educationist described governor Makinde’s administration as one which first consults the people across the zones in the state on their areas of needs and consequently work it out in his annual budget in order to address these needs head long every year, hence the development which his government has recorded over the years.
“The governor as a visionary leader has always been sensitive to the needs of the people of the state, hence, his administration has recruited several thousand of workers including teachers to strengthen development in the various sectors of the state.
” In Technical Education, he has given an approval for remodeling of the Technical College in Saki and the one at Orita Aperin in Ibadan, in order to make the students learn one trade or vocation that would make them reliant. This move will no doubt reduce unemployment and take our youth away from the street and also relieve them of looking for government job all the time.”
“In Agriculture, you need to go to Fashola Farms and see how he has transformed the place to Agric business hub. The farm now produces food for the people. The Fashola Farms development is another legacy of the governor.
“Another testament of his legacy and achievements are the massive rehabilitation of roads on going across the state, and I can tell you that before the governor completes his administration in 2027, he would have totally transformed the state.
“Another legacy of the governor is that the people get their salary before the end of the every month, this has never happened before in the state, this is another legacy.
Elder Ayoade while commending governor Makinde as the first governor who depoliticised appointment, empowerment and provisions of infrastructures in the state urged the people continue to support his efforts at ensuring that they enjoy real dividends of democracy.
“Before politics, governor Seyi Makinde has been a true visionary leader, and that is why I call him the God sent. He is the Moses sent by God to lead Oyo State to the promise land.
