Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has called for the formation of a Council of Obas in the state, with the goal of fostering unity and harmony within the traditional council.
The governor made this appeal shortly before presenting the 2025 Annual Budget at the State House of Assembly’s chambers on Wednesday.
He stated that creating this council would promote unity and administrative growth within the system.
“We should put aside our differences and set up the right structures,” he said. “I have advocated for this previously, as I believe it is necessary to establish proper protocols for peace and unity in the traditional council system.”
Governor Makinde noted that once the council is established, it would strengthen the state’s traditional system, paving the way for enhanced progress and development in Oyo State.
