The Chairman, Ibadan North Local Government area of Oyo State, Honourable Oluwaseun Olufade (ONALA) has assured the full support of his administration towards reducing poverty to the lowest minimal level among people of his council area.
Hon. Olufade ably represented by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Hamdy Kolawole Mustapha, gave the assurance during an advocacy cum sensitisation visit of the State Operational Coordinating Unit (SOCU)’s Community Based Target team led by Alhaji Ismaila Salami.
While expressing appreciation, he said that all the necessary steps in respect of logistics, security and finance to make the data collection exercise a huge success in Ibadan North will be made available.
“I want to state that we are resolute towards seeing to the reduction of poverty in our area. We want our people to live meaningful life and we will put all hands on deck to achieve it.
“However, I am making a passionate appeal that this team makes sure that the data that will be collected will be fruitful and beneficial to the people who are in dire need of intervention in their build to achieve good standard of living, in our council area.”
Earlier the leader of the SOCU team, Alhaji Ismaila Salami said that the team was saddled to engage the grassroots in collections of data through registration, which will kick start very soon, in order to identify the poorest of the poor in the communities.
According to him it was imperative to sensitize the people about the benefits embedded in the Programme so that they would key into it.
While soliciting the support of the local government, Alhaji Salam said that the product of the programme would definitely, as before, give room for social intervention with a fashioned out standard.
With the COS to receive the SOCU team were the Leader of the Legislative House, Hon. Taiwo Olubola; Acting Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), Irepodun LCDA, Alhaji Kazeem Adesina Bello; Director of Education and Social Services (DESS), Ibadan North, Alhaja Kudrat Olusola Najimdeen; Acting DESS, Aare Latosa and Irepodun LCDAs Mrs Idayat Sunmonu and Mr Ayoola Rafiu respectively; SOCU Programme Officer, Ibadan North, Mrs Folake Adeniji amongst others.
