The National President of the Association of Nigeria Itinerant Evangelists, Rev. Moses Olanrewaju has encouraged Christians to be more proactive in spreading the gospel to bring more souls into God’s kingdom.

Rev. Olanrewaju delivered this message at the inauguration of the new executive members of the Oyo State chapter of the association, held on Friday at Be-New-In Christ Evangelical Church, Oke Ado, Ibadan.

Administering the oath of office, he urged the new executives to serve as exemplary ambassadors of Christ, maximizing the grace of their calling in service to God.

According to Rev. Olanrewaju, evangelism is central to the work of an evangelist, emphasizing that the Bible is the foundation for Christian standards. Quoting Acts 6:1-4 and 2 Timothy 4:1-5, he remarked, “Thank God for the Bible, which has guided Christian activities and provided a standard for kingdom work. Without it, Christianity might have become muddled.”

In his sermon titled True Worship and the Work of Men, Rev. Olanrewaju encouraged Christians to strictly adhere to Biblical principles in their evangelistic efforts and to devote themselves to God’s work, just as Barnabas and Paul did.
He expressed disappointment over the casual regard for the office of evangelists today, urging them to rekindle their passion for the task, reminiscent of the early apostles.
He commended Apostle Philips Adebimpe Alimi, the General Overseer of Be-New-In Christ Evangelical Church, Oke Ado, Ibadan, who is also the newly appointed chairman of the Oyo State Itinerant Evangelists, for his dedication to kingdom work.
Rev. Olanrewaju encouraged him to ensure that the executive team aligns their actions with Biblical teachings on evangelism.
“As an itinerant evangelist, I have experienced grace in my ministry, and I want you to enjoy the same by fulfilling your duties according to the Bible’s teachings,” he added, encouraging them to remain active in evangelism to expand God’s kingdom.
Apostle Philips Alimi, the newly appointed chairman, expressed gratitude for his position and promised a tenure marked by impactful programmes over the next three years, including high-standard evangelism, revivals, conferences, symposiums, and workshops to empower members for their mission. He urged cooperation and unity among members to elevate the association.
“We are grateful for today and remember our past leaders, including the former chairman, late Rev. Amos Aroworakewu, who has passed on in the Lord,” said Alimi.
He also acknowledged the support and dedication of longstanding members like Rev. Idowu Animashaun, Rev. Nath Olaniyan, Rev. Alade, Rev. Mike Bayejo, Evangelist Kehinde Alade Aberuagba, and Evangelist Kayode Oyebode (Oju Oluwa).
Founded on September 9, 1989, by revered leaders such as Apostle Timothy Iyanda, Evangelist J.K.
