Mrs Oni gave the charge at the inauguration and swearing in of  new Executives of the association, held at the Western hall, House of Assembly complex, Secretariat Ibadan on Thursday.

According to her, the new Executives of the association need to contribute their quota to the development of civil service and  the association in order to justify their professional services in their assignments.

“My advice to the newly Inaugurated executive members is that they should contribute their quota to the progress of the association by discharging their assignments professionally. Whatever they leave in the service is what they are leaving for generations to come.

“Whatever they do in their various places of assignments will show wether they are professionals or not, the difference will always be there from now on and they will be appreciated whatever the contributions they make “

“The inauguration of the state chapter is to your credit, try to contribute your quota to the progress  the civil service and the association, try your best and make efforts to ensure the association succeeds and come to life.

The Head of Service who encouraged them to attend various trainings  for development  described the occasion as the begining of success for members of the association in the state.

She also charged them to be up and doing in their duties in order to move the state forward, adding that  regular training will come forth.

In her lecture, themed, “Effective Administrative Strategies For Enhanced Productivity And Efficient Service Delivery, the guest speaker, Dr. (Mrs) Modupe Albert Admonished members of  CIPAN in the state to discharge their duties with best practice standard in order to promote accuracy and progress in the Civil service.

According to her, corruption has remained an endemic issue undermining the standard and progress of civil service,  urging them not to play double standard in their assignments.

“Corruption is a major challenge in in the nation’s civil service system, it started from our homes, and from you and I, this has led to people playing double standard in their services, meaning that public officers now cut corners in the discharge of their assignments.

“All of these have multiplying effect on the state and nation. Some see the act of cutting corners as a share of national cake, but now, the nation is paying for all of these which had happened over the years.

Dr. Albert said the change we all need to move the nation forward can start from the civil servants and from every home in the country.

“My presentation is a wake up call to our Ministries and Agencies, because if any political administration works well, it may mean that we have done our homework well”

She urged civil servants and career officers to discharge their duties in a way that would make politicians respect them.

In his address, the new CIPAN Chairman, Mr Kayode Muyiwa appreciated the Head of Service and CIPAN management for the success of the  occasion, just as he assured that professionalism has come to stay.
