In his quest to support the Agro-business initiative of the Governor of Oyo State,Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Political Head/Administrator, Ibadan West local Council Development Area,Hon.Adigun Tajudeen Adeniyi on Tuesday, commissioned Omititun 2.0 Day Old Chicks Market at Gbekuba,Apata, Ibadan.
Hon Adigun while speaking with the newsmen at the occasion said the initiative is the first of its kind by any local Council Development Area in Oyo state
According to him, the project was made possible by the support of the Chairman, Ibadan South West local Government Area,Hon.Kehinde Akande
He noted that his desire to ameliorate the challenges facing citizens of the council area prompted him to relocate the Day Old Chicks Market at Oluyole to this new location where life will be very comfortable for the market people and business transaction will be carried out seamlessly.
Hon Adigun fondly called ‘Baba Oja’, expressed gratitude to the state governor ,Engr Seyi Makinde for his visionary leadership which he said, is propelling others in leadership positions in the state to follow his footprints of people oriented projects and programmes.
Hon.Adigun , advised all the citizens that will be transacting business in the market to dwell in unity, most especially the members of Day Old Chickens Merchant Association of Nigeria (DOCMAN).
In an event held earlier, to flag off a fumigation exercise at Oke Bola Primary Health Centre and Chlorination of wells across the length and breadth of the local government, Hon. Adigun Tajudeen advised the people of the LCDA to take personal hygiene seriously by cleaning their houses and environment and avoiding open defecation so as to prevent the spread of cholera outbreak recently discovered in the council area.
