Augustine Eguavoen has quit as the interim coach of the Super Eagles.
Eguavoen said, his “mandate was for two games”.
The 59-year-old was brought in as the Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), after failed attempts to hire a substantive head coach for the national team.
Eguavoen was incharge of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations’ qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda. The Eagles beat Benin 3-0 last Saturday and drew 0-0 in Rwanda on Tuesday.
Speaking at the Kigali Airport after the game, Eguavoen said: “I have been given a mandate to handle two games.
“I will want to say I am very pleased with the boys and again, thanks to the NFF leadersip and all the boys who supported me.
“It ends today. I can’t talk about Libya, because I haven’t been told about it”.
