The President of Ohanaeze Youth in Oyo state Chief Wilfred Madu has implored federal government to halt the issue of fuel scarcity affecting the country or else it might lead to mass protest.
Speaking in Ibadan in reaction to the the issue of fuel scarcity ravaging the economy,Chief Madu who doubles as the Chairman Ekotedo Igbo Traders said this is causing untold hardship among Nigerians.
He opined that the problem has turned many able bodied Nigerians into beggars because they can hardly feed themselves let alone solving other problems.
The Ohanaeze Youth President therefore advised that crude oil should be sold to local refineries in the country instead of them going abroad to purchase it and later transferring the cost to Nigerians outside the gain they will make hence making fuel pump price to go beyond the reach of almost every Nigerian.
Chief Wilfred explained that as a trader he has had to sell in order to make profit since he bought at am exorbitant price observing that this situation has caused a drastic reduction in sales leading to little or no profit.
He stated that if this trend continues , it might lead to mass protest which will involve the traders since it is affecting their income and profit noting that the best way to avert this ugly occurrence is to make fuel available while the issue of subsidy is settled permanently instead of allowing it to be a recurring decimal .
