I am grateful to God for vindicating me after six months suspension, says Onido of Ido, Oba Gbolagade Babalola

The Onido of Ido in Ibadan land, Oba  Muritala Gbolagade Babalola, (Gbadewolu 1) has again thanked the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde and his Cabinet for allowing justice to prevail by returning him to the throne  as Onido of Ido after six months suspension.

Oba Babalola made the statement at a thanksgiving programme he organized at his residence to express his gratitude to God Almighty for prevailing on the development.

The Monarch who was apparently excited and full of joy also thanked the Olubadan of Ibadan land,Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadan land,  High  Rashidi Ladoja and people of Ido for their support since the development lasted.

 “Both the governor and his Cabinet have rightly preserved the traditional Institution by their action. I am eternally grateful to Governor Seyi Makinde for his Patience while the issue came up. 

“I also want to express my sincere gratitude to the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadan land, High Chief Rashidi Ladoja and the Olubadan in Council for the fatherly role they played during the suspension. I also thank  Ido indigenes home and abroad for their unalloyed loyalty and love for me”

It will be recalled that the state government suspended Oba Gbolagade Muritala Babalola as the Onido of Ido over alleged ties with illegal miners for six months.

The suspension was made  known in a letter dated 2nd of  February, 2024 and signed by the former commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon Olusegun Olayiwola but which has been lifted now.

The Onido of Ido, Oba Babalola, (Gbadewolu 1), however described his reinstatement as a testament that he was innocent of the allegations leveled against him.

He described the development as a test of faith which has further brought him close to God Almighty.

I am grateful to God for vindicating me after  the six months suspension, Onido of Ido, Oba Gbolagade Babalola added.

He urged the people to always be patient and look up to God when ever they find themselves in a some situation.

The monarch assured the people that he will continue to work on developmental programmes that will bring succour to the people of the area.

He then called for cooperation among indigenes and non indigenes of Ido in order to promote peace and development in the area.

He however warm those who are bent in causing troubles in Ido area to desist or face the full wrath of the law.
