In a heartbreaking tale of misfortune, a 23-year-old POS (Point of Sale) operator in Lagos State, Nwazuogo Chimaobi Mary Rose, a 23-year-old woman from Lagos State, has fallen victim to a devastating scam that has left her struggling to make ends meet and repay a significant loan.

While narrating her ordeal to Sunday Vanguard, Nwazuogo said on the evening of July 17th, 2024, a young man approached her POS (Point of Sale) spot, requesting to transfer N150,000 to another account.

Nwazuogo, being diligent and cautious, carefully counted the money four times to ensure the full amount was present.

According to her, the man then provided an account number, which initially showed as invalid, adding that after a short wait, he returned with another Unity Bank account number, and she promptly transferred the funds.

To her horror, mere moments later, the money she had received turned to dust, rendering it completely unusable after the man had gone.

Nwazuogo immediately tried to locate the perpetrator, but her efforts were in vain.

Devastated, she reported the incident to the police, who informed her that a formal police report would be required for the bank to assist her in tracing the account.

She added that not the first time she would been the victim of criminal activities.

Nwazuogo revealed that she had experienced multiple robbery attacks and scams in the past, all while trying to make a living and support her sick mother and siblings back home in the village.

Adding to her burdens, Nwazuogo has a loan of N200,000 naira that she must repay by next week.

Unwilling to resort to unethical means to raise the funds, she is appealing to well-meaning Nigerians for assistance.

“I’m an innocent girl who is trying to make ends meet to help my sick mother and my siblings at the village.”

“I don’t want to sleep around like others to get money, I know that hardwork pays and I’m striving to survive. I also have a loan worth N200,000 to repay by next week.”

However, Nwazuogo provided her bank account details for those who wish to offer their support and help for her to overcome the difficult period as: Uba, 2198872625, Nwazuogo Chimaobi Mary Rose and her mobile number is: 0816 295 0779.

“My business location is at Doyin Bus Stop, Lagos Expressway, along Surulere,” she added.
