The Chairman, Ibadan North Local Government area of Oyo State, Honourable Oluwaseun Olufade (Onala) has admonished Muslim faithfuls to consecrate their lives to Almighty Allah in all honesty and seek His benevolence and intervention on the affairs of the state and the nation as a whole.
Hon. Olufade gave the admonition while congratulating Muslims on the occasion of Hijrah 1446 AH, which is the commencement of the Islamic calendar.
The Chairman who thanked Almighty Allah for the gift of life despite the myriads of challenges facing individuals occasioned by the economic hardship in the country quoted the Quran as saying, “Allah is ever ready to answer our prayers to bless us with peace and progress as a people.
“It is a fact that things are not going well the people owing to the economic hardship in the country but we must be prayerful and optimistic that God in His infinite mercy will intervene in our situation”
The Council boss whom used the occasion to encourage members of the local government to ensure a healthy environment to prevent the outbreak of cholera in their respective areas, urged the people not to take the advice for granted.
According to him, cleanliness is next to godliness and healthy living.
“Happy new year to all Muslims. I pray that we shall all live to witness many more of the celebration by the power of Almighty Allah,” the Chairman said.
