The Chairman, Kajola Local Government of Oyo State, Honourable ( Alhaji ) Barrister Akeem Olawale Mustapha had his maiden meeting with the Staff of the Local Government on Thursday 27th June, 2024.
The interactive meeting which was held at the instance of the new Council boss came up at the Conference Room of the Local Government Secretariat, Meseole, Okeho.
In his address at the meeting, Honourable Mustapha noted that the election process had come and gone, stressing that nothing whatsoever should be allowed to stop the process of governance.
The Council’s helmsman charged the Staffers to be dedicated and eschew absenteeism, lateness, indolence, negligence and dereliction of duties as he took up the mantle of leadership for all round progress and development of the Local Government area.
He emphasized on the need to team up with his administration in order to harness all available resources, particularly in the area of revenue generation for accelerated development of the council.
Also speaking, the Vice Chairman who doubles as the Political Head of Iwa Local Council Development Area, Honourable ( Dr.) Robert Adeniji sought the support and cooperation of the Staffers, with a call on them to be patriotic, loyal and purposeful in the discharge of their duties so as to lift the Local Government to higher levels.
Earlier in his remarks, the Head of Local Government Administration, (HLA) Pastor S. I. Adegoke charged the Staff to be up and doing, focussed and disciplined; adding that their attitudes to work must be in line with the Chairman’s pace in order to achieve desired results.
Staff at different levels who spoke at the meeting pledged their readiness to abide by the rules in the discharge of their duties, even as they tabled their demands for conducive working environment and the need for provision of essential equipment to aid their operations in order to ensure optimal performances.
Among those present at the meeting were: the Leader of the Local Government’s Legislative House, Honourable Ogunleke Sunday Julius; Members of the Legislative House; the Chief of Staff, Honourable Tiamiyu Akeem and the Chairman, Kajola Local Government chapter of Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees ( NULGE ), Comrade Sunday Adebare Atunwa.
The meeting was well attended by Directors, Deputy Directors, Sectional Heads and various categories of Staff.
