Oyo NSCDC deploys 2,515 personnel for  Eid- El Kabir

The Oyo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Augustine Padonu  said he has deployed 2,515 highly trained personnel of the Command to nook and cranny of the state  in preparation of the fort coming Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

He said the measure was taken proactively to ensure the safety and security of the public before, during and after the celebration.

Commandant Padonu who extended his warmest felicitations to Muslim faithfuls in the state, wished them a joyous Eid-el-Kabir Celebration.

The Commandant has directed all formations in the State to ensure professional security architecture during the festival and intensify robust efforts. 

“These formations encompass the Area Commands, Divisional Commands, as well as specialized departments and units such as the Operations Department, Disaster Management Unit, the Counter Terrorism Unit, Anti-Vandalism Unit, Armed Squad, Special Female Squad and the Agro-Rangers. 

“The targets of the deployment will be praying grounds, religious houses, national assets and infrastructure, road intersections, recreation centers, malls, motor parks and terminals, markets, and other public areas.

He said the deployed personnel have been tasked with the critical responsibility of safeguarding national assets and infrastructure which is a core mandate of the Corps, adding that their duties also include protecting lives and property, managing crowd control, ensuring smooth flow of traffic and maintaining a visible security presence.

” The NSCDC personnel will work in collaboration with other security agencies to ensure a comprehensive and collaborative security coverage.”

The Commandant urged all residents of the State, as well as visitors, to celebrate with caution and remain vigilant in  their surroundings, adding that any suspicious activity should be reported to NSCDC and other security agencies.
