… Unveils legislative agenda for 10th assembly
The Oyo State governor ‘Seyi Makinde on Thursday disclosed that his administration has approved the grading of 30 kilometer of inner roads in all the 33 local government areas of the state
Governor Makinde made this known while responding to requests from lawmakers in the Oyo State House of Assembly for the rehabilitation of inner roads accross the state during his state of the state address held at the legislative chamber ,to mark the first year anniversary of the inauguration of the State’s 10th Assembly
The governor , who was a guest at the a special plenary sitting of the House of Assembly, the said funds for the execution of the project had been deposited in each of the Local government account assuring that works will commence soon on the project
He reiterated his administration commitment to lifting millions of residents of Oyo state out of poverty despite the current economic challenges.
Governor Makinde who admitted that the year has been challenging due to the current economic crisis in the country said, however that his administration will leave no stone unturned to turn around the fortune of the state
He noted that his administration has been able to shore up the Internally Generated Revenue,IGR of the state from N4.2billion in 2022 to N4.9 billion in the first quarter of 2024.
The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Right Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin commending governor Seyi Makinde for the support enjoyed by the executive arm of government for the achievements recorded by the legislative arm over the years
The Speaker assured the people of the state that the lawmakers of the state House of Assembly will not rest on their oars until dividends of democracy are delivered to all the people of the state.
The event witnessed the unveiling of the Legislative Agenda for the 10th Oyo state House of Assembly at the caucus room of the legislative chamber.
