
Vice Chairman Ibadan Week , Alhaja Ayo Alaga has said the target is to grow the festival so big that it becomes a tourist attraction just as she revealed that about N35m was generated besides a bus gift.

Alaja Alaga who spoke for The Chairman of the organizing Committee Balogun Gafar Oyewole said the week which will feature many programs such as cultural display, historical tours , Ibadan conference, all Ibadan youth day and children parliament , O.O Bello Education Competition and Orekelewa among others will be grown such that it will attract many tourists within and outside Nigeria.
She disclosed that it had always been her dream to serve humanity adding that Ibadan week provided her the opportunity she had yearn for as an Ibadan indigene.
Alhaji Alaga said further that because her father’s love for Ayo Olopon, she was co sponsoring the Ayo Olopon competition in order to discover hidden talent in the sport.
The Vice Chairman noted the essence of the annual festival is to showcase the cultural heritage of Ibadan indigenes pointing out that the Central Council Of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) has over three hundred and eighty clubs and associations within it fold.
She also explained the primary object of the body is develop, grow and show case the beauty of Ibadan cultural heritage which spans hundreds of years.
Alaja Alaga commended the eleven Chairman of the local governments in Ibadan land for their moral and financial support part from lauding others well meaning Ibadan indigenes who contributed to the success of the weeklong project.
