Dr. Farombi, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Online Health Company (OHEALTH) stated this in an interview with journalists in Ibadan.

The founder of Brain Care Initiative, Nigeria, said  there was the need to revolutionize the health sector in the state and nation as a whole.

She said there is the need to re awaken the comatose and microcosm health sector in Oyo State by revolutionizing it  and take it to the next level.

According to her, the health sector in the state is not as vibrant as it should be,  despite the much campaign put into by government in the past four years, adding that it is good to put on ground facilities to make the sector really working.

“My vision for the health Sector is to establish a network distribution of skill provider without having to physically see a doctor or health provider that will attend to you. This is where barriers are broken down with digitalisation of health care services.

“Government has done a lot of infrastructure on the health sector but the sector is not as vibrant as it should be, even at the local levels , you will not see a doctor at the clinic. If we are experiencing the gap at the urban center, you can imagine what the local government will look like.”

“Our vision is to ensure easy access to quality health care services as a result of skilled distribution of health care services. In 2020, we established health mobile App.  where people can do consultation with  over 150 Specialists and general doctors across  the state and the nation without coming to urban center.

“These people can access health services through their smart phones, and this technology can help reduce waiting time up to 80 percent, because they would not have to talk about traffic and all the rest hindrances, more so that the internet penetration in Nigeria is above 60 percent.

“What we are trying to do is to take advantage of the access we have to redistribute health care services to the people.”

Dr Farombi who expressed confidence that the innovation would address so much shortcomings including quackery said telemedicine is a new innovation in advance nations including Ukraine. She said the organization partners with the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA)

“Telemedicine is being employed in Ukraine and other advanced nations of the world, the development will help to access health care services without having to stress your self, it will check quackery and self medication and others.”

According to her, the initiative is not aimed at removing physical meeting with doctors but to bring health services closer to the people and enhance health services through technology.

“In the medical profession, we are trained as doctors to be able to make  diagnosis by 80 percent with what the patient tell us, the 20 percent is shared between examination and others.”

Dr. Farombi said her organisation will soon  launch the initiative with the Private Suites of the  University College Hospital, adding that people who want to consult the private suites will not need to physically come before they can schedule their appointment and for follow up.

“We hope to launch that in the first week of June. We want the people to really take their health very important, hence, the initiatives.
