Olubadan designate hosts Anglican clerics

A team of clerics from the Anglican denomination led by the Archbishop of Ibadan Anglican Province, Rt. Rev. Joseph Olatunji Akinfenwa on Tuesday paid homage to the Olubadan-designate, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin

The clerics were at the Alalubosa residence of the Oba Olakulehin to pay homage to the soon to be King of Ibadanland who had on Sunday, worshipped at the Cathedral of St Peters Aremo, Ibadan to show gratitude to God for his nomination as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland by the Olubadan-in- Council.

Speaking during the visit,the Ibadan North Anglican Chancellor, Barr.COK Iyanda who introduced the entourage, disclosed that their mission was to pay homage to one of their own and a strong supporter of the Anglican community and to pray for a peaceful and successful reign of the monarch.

He stated that the clerics and the Anglican community were excited to see the Olubadan-designate in church on Sunday adding that the church attendance gave them the impetus for the visit.

In his remarks, the Bishop of Ibadan North Diocese,Rt. Rev. Williams Aladekugbe prayed for the good health of the monarch and wisdom to direct the affairs of Ibadan.

Aremo Olasunmbo Owolabi Olakulehin who responded on behalf of the Olubadan-designate thanked the Anglican clerics for the visit.

He disclosed that the Olubadan Designate’s church attendance last Sunday was the monarch’s initiative as he felt the need to offer his gratitude and thanksgiving to God for his nomination as the next Olubadan of Ibadan.

Meanwhile, Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde is expected to respond officially to the nomination of the Olubadan-designate soon.
