In his commitment to promoting the community health and wellness; the Executive Chairman of Afijio Local Government Hon.Sunday Akindele Ojo (SAO) Sponsored a day free healthcare services for residents of Afijio Local Government.
The free medical outreach was held at Afijio Local Government headquarters ,Jobele where over 200 residents of Afijio Local Government comprising of men, women, youths and children from different ages were beneficiaries.
According to a release signed by the Head of Information Unit of the
local government , Folashade Oduola,
the health services rendered are, Health talk, Eye Test, Blood Pressure check up, weight and height measuring, distribution of drugs and eyes glasses among others.
In Chairman remarks;Hon.Sunday Akindele Ojo expressed his sincere gratitude to the Executive Governor of Oyo State His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde and all the good people of Afijio Local Government for their unflinching support so far right from his first term as Caretaker Chairman till this present tenure as Executive Chairman. “I will forever be grateful for given me this rare privilege to serve my people” the Chairman promised.
In their separate health talk, Alhaja Amdalat Salau ,the Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs Oladeji ,acting PHC Cordinator and Dr.Oyedotun Moses ,CEO Maro EyeCare and Optical Services;
advised residents to always eat nutritious foods/ fruits, do exercise , check their Blood Pressure latest every three months and perform overall medical check up regularly saying “prevention is better than cure.”
According to the two beneficiaries who spoke on behalf of others ,Pa Adeosun from Jobele town and Mrs Oluwafunmilola Orobiyi from Awe town both appreciated the Executive Chairman for the comprehensive range of essential health services provided for them free of charge.
Personalities at the event were;all Division Police Officers in Afijio Local Government led by ACP Oke Olufunmilayo the Oyo Area Command, Hon. Wumi Akinrinola the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman &other Political Appointees , Mr.David Omotoso the Director of Administration and General Services, Mrs Janet Oyedare the Director of Finance and Supplies, Mr.Dare Kunmi the Director Budget, Com.Sherif Olayiwola the NULGE Chairman, among others.
