Ahead of the April 27, 2024 Local Government election in Oyo State, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Christian’s Forum has said it has commenced mobilization for all the Chairmanship and Councillorship candidates of the party towards ensuring victory at the poll.
The President of the Forum , Mr. Aderemi Adeniyi who stated this during a Leadership Conference organised by the forum at the Government House Chapel, Agodi ,Ibadan on Saturday expressed optimism that the party’s candidates will emerge victorious at the election.
Adeniyi stated the vision and mission of the group to include among others; raising godly leaders and to support and mobilize for the PDP across the 33 local governments in the state.
In a lecture at the Leadership Conference, tagged: Christians In Politics, In A Market Place”,the state Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN),Ap. (Col) Joshua Sola Akinyemiju (rtd.) represented by his Personal Assistant,Dr Olamide highlighted the roles of christians in the society which includes; good neighbourliness , selfless service, diligence in duty, obedience to constituted authority, among others .
The cleric urged the leadership and members of PCF to remain focused and key into government programmes and activities , saying “that it is the reason why you are into politics”.
Earlier in an opening remark, Chaplain Oyo State Government House, Agodi, Ibadan Pastor layi Adisa, appreciated the Planning Committeefor putting up the event and promised the Forum regular use of Oyo State Govt House Chapel for their various activities
In his own comment, the Special Adviser to Governor ‘Seyi Makinde on Inter-faith Affairs,Rev Olufemi Ibikunle urged the leadership of the Forum to keep up the good work while also promising to relate their requests with the State Governor, Engr Oluseyi Makinde.
Also, the State Youth Leader and PRO of the PDP in the State,Hon Micheal Ogunsina commended the PDP Christian’s Forum in the State and urged members to continue to remain the shining light to others.
Over 100 new members across the 33 local government areas were received into the party at the event
The PDP leaders in attendance at the event include; the Chairmanship candidate of Akinyele L.ocal Government,Hon Wole Akinleye,Hon Seun Olufade of Ibadan North Local Government who was represented by his Vice and President ( FOS) Friends of Seyi Makinde in Oyo State,Hon Aderibigbe,Hon Olapade Ebenezer among other notable dignitaries.

Pastor Emmanuel Folayemi Akanmu (Deputy Chaplain Government House), Apostle Ige Crown and
Apostle Paul Olaitan,General Secretary, CAN, Ibadan who doubled as the Chairman, Ibadan Northwest CAN Chairman
The Chairman, Planning Committee, Comrade Olawale Ezekiel lauded the efforts of Governor Oluseyi Makinde for the developmental projects across the 33 Local Governments, just as he expressed appreciation to all those who had contributed immensely towards the success of the programme.
He urged members of PCF across the State to go out and mobilize support for all the party’s candidates in the forthcoming council polls in the state.
Prayers were offered for the Chairmanship and Councilorship candidates ahead of the council poll.
