The Chairman, Irepo Local Government area of Oyo State, Honourable Oyedokun Oyetunji has extended his heartfelt wishes to Christians on the occasion of the Easter celebration.
The council boss emphasized the significance of embracing the true essence of the season, adding that the occasion is marked by hope, love, joy, and sacrifice.
In his address to the Christian community, he urged citizens to reflect on the lessons and values of Easter celebration and incorporate them into their daily lives.
“Easter is more than just a celebration and holiday; it is a time for us to come together as a community, to reflect on our blessings, and to renew our spirits.
“It is a time to extend love and kindness to one another, to share in each other’s joys, and to offer support to those in need.”
The chairman stressed the importance of keeping hope alive especially in the face of challenges, saying. “As we celebrate Easter, let us keep hope alive in our hearts. Let us remember that brighter days are ahead, and together, we can overcome any obstacle that comes our way.”
Hon. Oyetunji urged the people to continue their unwavering support for the government of the state and the local government administration, just as he highlighted the strides made by the government of governor Seyi Makinde in enhancing infrastructure development, quality healthcare, education, and other essential services.
“Our progress as a community is hinge on our collective dedication and support for the government. Let us remain steadfast in our commitment to the development of Irepo Local Government and Oyo State as a whole,” he urged.
Hon. Oyetunji however called on the people to celebrate responsibly and ensure security consciousness and measures and extend supportive gestures or kindness and goodwill to those around them during the celebration
