Gov. Makinde is a model, huge blessing to youths in Oyo, says Settle Olaide

The Chairman, Oluyole Local Government area of Oyo State, Honourable Settle Olaide has described the state governor Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde as a huge blessing to the youths of the state and the people generally.

Hon. Settle recalled that since the  emergence of governor Makinde in 2019, his administration has continued to engaged the youths in various positions and capacities in his government, thus preparing and established them for leadership position.

According to him, the governor through his visionary leadership has successfully impacted leadership spirit in the youths of the state by engaging them in governance and administrative development.

The council boss made the submission in Ibadan in an exclusive interview with Oodua News Newspaper, adding that the governor has succeeded in striking a balance in the scheme of governance of the state by dutifully encouraging the youths in his administration.

“I commend  governor Makinde for his insight and visionary leadership, especially for engaging the youths in his administration. His administration has been a huge blessing to the people of the state and the youths in particular.

“Over the years and before his emergence as governor,  the youths have been sidelined and short changed in the scheme of governance, but his emergence as  governor opened a new chapter for  youths in active politics and governance.

“It is worthy to note that key ministries in his government including Youths and Sports  have youths as commissioners, also, out of the 33 local government in the state, 27 chairmen are youths and they are doing well. All  of these are efforts and quality leadership of governor Seyi Makinde, this is a welcome development in the state.”

Hon Settled who acknowledged governor Seyi Makinde as his benefactor and model said the reason youths lost interest in politics in the past was due to the neglect they have suffered in the hands past politicians, adding the emergence of the governor has bridged  the gap.

He admonished the top politicians and serving governors to emulate the good gestures of the governor in order to encourage youths for leadership position for the future.

Speaking on his achievements in Oluyole Local Government, the council boss said he has come up with 157 verifiable projects within a little time frame of his tenure, adding that  he had achieved remarkable developmental projects from ward one  to ward 10 that can speak for the party (PDP), and  coming administration of the council.

“The achievements included distribution of free holiday coaching for students, cash rewards, free 12 transformers to 12 communities in Oluyole Local government, 8 boreholes have been provided, I have rehabilitated primary health centers and facilitated Operation Burst to provide adequate security for the people of the local government area.

“As I speak to you, two police station are under construction and will be completed before the end of my tenure. So, the people should be expecting consolidation of project in the  administration and I make bold to say that the next chairman, Engr Akeem Olatunji  is equally up to the task.”

Hon. Olaide urged the people of the council troop out en mass to vote for PDP in the local government election coming up on April 27, 2024.
