Ibadan based juju music maestro, Ojo Adedayo Oluwafemi popularly known as Dayo Success has described the passage of the Olubadan of Ibadan land Oba (Dr) Senator Lekan Balogun CFR Alli Okunmade II as a colossal loss to Yoruba race and the nation as a whole.
Ojo Adedayo in a statement through his Publicist, Richard Thomas said the monarch will always be remembered for his quality contributions to the acient city, the country, and especially during his reign which lasted two years.
The statement reads in parts: “I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Olubadan. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. Losing someone as esteemed and revered as Olubadan is undoubtedly a profound loss for the entire Yoruba race and Nigeria as a whole.
“Olubadan’s legacy will undoubtedly live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew him. His contributions to the Ibadan land, his wisdom, and his leadership will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.
As we mourn his passing, let’s us take solace in God Almighty, trusting that God will give the family and the people the fortitude to bear the loss.
Dayo Success as he is fondly addressed urged the family to find solace in the cherished memories of Olubadan, saying the memories will bring them comfort and strength in the days ahead.
He recalled that he had a scheduled courtesy visit to the monarch a week before his passing, just as extolled the virtues and sterling qualities of the royal father.
According to him, Oba Lekan Balogun was a great father, a wonderful leader who loved all and was always ready to assist or help anyone who crossed path with him.
