Preparation is in top gear by the Yoruba Patriots’ Movement and Coalition of several Civil Society Organisations to organise the Southwest Summit which will deliberate on topical issues in the polity

According to astatement signed by the convener Barrister Oladosu Oladipo, and the Secretary of the planning committee, Comrade Awa Bamiji , the event will hold on Monday, 11 March, 2024, at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, by 10am prompt.

The topic of the Summit “A call for Military Takeover by Opposition: It’s Time for Democrats To Stand And Defend Democracy” will be delivered by erudite Scholar, Emeritus Prof Olu Aina

Discussants at the occasion are; Arcbishop Ayo Ladigbolu,Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu I, Oluwo of Iwoland
,Oba Saheed Eleghusi, Eleghusi of Eghusiland, Lagos State
,Oba Gbolahan Lawal, Oniru of Iruland, Lagos State,Honourable Bayo Aina, Secretary, Yoruba Leaders of Thought, Ekiti State and Comrade Sunday Igboho, Yoruba Human Rights’ Activist, Ibadan

Chairman of occasion is General Alani Akinrinade (Rtd) while Prince Tajudeen Olusi, Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Pius Akinyelure and Aremo Olusegun Osoba are fathers of the day. Mother of the day is Prof (Mrs) Bolanle Awe

The Special Guest of Honour is Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, First Lady, Federal Republic of Nigeria, while Guests of Honour are Southwest States’ Governors and Ministers. The Special Guests are Southwest Senators, Federal Honourables and Honourable Speakers of 6 Southwestern States.
