
Major parts of Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital on Monday witnessed massive protest by youths, market men and women over hardship, inflation and high cost of living being currently experienced in the country.
The protesters comprising youths, market women took to the street early in the morning of Monday, chanting solidarity songs to make known their grievances.
The protesters who carried placards with various inscriptions such as ‘The poor is starving’, ‘End food hike and inflation now, amongst others, called on President Bola Tinubu to quickly fix the sordid situation.
To avoid hoodlums from hijacking the peaceful rally, some armed policemen were stationed at strategic places in the city capital.
The protest followed similar development in other states like Kano, Minna, Kogi, Kaduna, among others.
