Onibise of Otu gets Staff of Office

Oyo State governor,Engr. Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde has charged the people of Otu in Itesiwaju Local Government to stay united, give due regard to their traditional ruler and promote their cultural heritage.

This charge was part of address delivered by the state governor through the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters,Hon. Segun Olayiwola at the official presentation of staff of office to the Onibise of Otu, His Majesty, Oba Abiodun Oyerinde Owolabi Olakuleyin1, held at his palace , Ibise Otu.

Hon. Olayiwola noted that the unity of the people of Otu is very imperative for the town to progress.

The Commissioner stressed that Engr Seyi Makinde accords the traditional rulers great respect and put them a pride of place in the scheme of things.

He emphasized that traditional rulers are held in high esteem and their welfare are well taken care of by the state government.

While speaking at the occasion, Chairman Itesiwaju Local Government Hon. Ojo Bolaji Akintola, eulogized the state governor for his prompt approval of the official presentation of instrument of office to the Onibise of Otu, despite all odds.

He admonished the monarch to see his official recognition as a divine call to serve his subjects with utmost responsibility.

The council boss disclosed that traditional institution has been strengthened by the state government with the task of ensuring security of lives and properties of their subjects.
He therefore charged the Onibise of Otu to join hands with the state government to address the menace of banditry, kidnapping and cattle rustling being faced at the council area.

In their separate remarks,Sobaloju of Ibise Otu Chief George Adesina, Chief Joshua Olayiwola Bolaji, Prince Yemi Hezekiah Gbadegesin,Mrs Omobosola Owolabi Golohor,Mrs Folashade Oluwafemi Popoola,former staff of BCOS Mrs Dupe Ayorinde,Deaconess Adesokan Olukemi and Pa S.G Owolabi thanked the state governor for the honour bestowed on the monarch of Ibise Otu.


They also charged all Ibise sons and daughters home and abroad to be worthy ambassador .

In their goodwill messages, the chairman traditional council of Oba Itesiwaju Local Government, the Eleyinpo of Ipapo Oba Abdul Yekeen Ademola Abioye the two, Olokaka of Okaka Oba Abdul Azeez Olatunji Ayoola Ogelende the fourth and the Oluigbo of Igbojaye Oba Zachius Oladimeji urged the new monarch to cooperate with the state government and play his part towards moving the council forward.

The epoch event had in attendance dignitaries of timber and caliber from across the country.
