“What prompted the Police dinner outreach programme was the  gradual decline which the ministry noticed in the activities of the police over the years, and much have been done to restore the glory of the profession through the annual programme.

“The Gethsemane Police Dinner outreach  mission to the Nigeria Police Force  started in 1992 through series of social and spiritual activities like motivation lectures, film shows, musical entertainment, award dinners and prayer rallies.

“We believe that if God through these activities can touch the hearts of some of them, they will better serve the nation and the society will benefit immensely from them.”

“As a result of our outreaches among them especially in Oyo State Command, many policemen and women have been transformed and great changes can be seen in their lives and in the performance of their duties.”

“Over the years, we noticed a gradual decline in the professionalism and the operational efficiency of our own once noble and globally acclaimed police force. It is for this reason that the Gethsemane Prayer Ministries decided to contribute it’s own quota in her own way to the glory restoration of the police force. The programme has been sustained by God and it’s  yielding good results.”

Dr. Aransiola, who is the  President Nigeria Prays noted that the societal menace of the police which included extortion of money from motorists, injustice, brutality among others are not peculiar to the police alone, adding that it is a  general societal disease that can only be cured by understanding, education, training, periodic sanctions and prayers.

Dr. Aransiola who led many of them to Christ Jesus during his ministration said the  motives of the programme was  to encourage the rank and files of the police, to motivate them for impartation, transformation of character and and attitude,  and to offer them prayer, anointing as well as prayer literature to help guide them in the course of their service.

In his remark, the General Overseer, God’s Elect Ministries, Adejumo, Elenusonso, Ibadan, Pastor Bola Longe commended the vision of the Gethsemane Prayer Ministries International on the outreach, urging men and officers of the command to embrace the gestures and the grace in the programme in order to better their lives.

Pastor Longe, a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, (AIG) charged them to be law abiding and  do away with acts which does not glorify God.

“I urge to desist from acts capable of undermining your  integrity and that  of the police profession. Don’t allow anybody to push you into any unholy act, and do not collect bribe. It doesn’t make anyone  rich, it’s only God that can make someone rich.”

Also in his brief remark, the Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode Adebowale  described the programme as very laudable, urging the police to see the programme as rare opportunity brought to them to unite them with God for a victorious life

Professor Adebowale said what makes the difference between one person and the other is Christ Jesus, urging them to return to Jesus, reflect on his teachings in order to achieve more grace in their duty and their daily living.

One of the the awardees, Inspector Obayomi David attached to State Criminal Investigative Department (CID), Iyaganku, who recorded success on visa scam investigation running to a billion naira described the award of gift and cash  as a moral booster to them.
