The wife of former aide to late Alhaja Kudirat MKO Abiola, Comrade Akinola Orisagbemi , Mrs Omowunmi Felicia Orisagbemi is dead
The deceased, aged 50, passed on around 10pm yesterday December 31, 2023 after a two – day illness at a private clinic in Agbado /Oke – Aro area of Ogun State.
She was survived by her husband, Akinola, and two children.
A statement by the National Coordinator, Coalition of Pro-Democracy Groups For A Better Nigeria, Comrade Awa Bamiji indicated that burial rites will take place in few days
The statement reads in part: “Death is an envitable end of human existence. When it will happen and how it will happen are always determined by our Creator, Almighty God. “From Him we come, unto Him we shall return”.
“With heavy heavy heart but in total submission to the will of Almighty God, we, June 12 Activists, announce the death of Mrs Omowunmi Felicia Orisagbemi, aged 50, caring Wife of Comrade Akinola Orisagbemi, former aide of late Alhaja Kudirat MKO Abiola, who later became popular as a notable June 12 victim, after surviving 16 gunshots fired at different parts of his body by some mobile policemen right inside the premises of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on July 28, 1994, during the June 12 Election Actualisation Struggle, which had negatively impacted his health condition since then till now. He had 12 surgeries along the line.
