The Oyo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Michael Adaralewa has assured the people of Oyo State of maximum security during and after the yuletide season.
Adaralewa gave the assurance at the command’s end of the year party held at the command headquarters, Ibadan, saying the command had deployed about two thousand five hundred personnel across the nooks and crannies of the state.
According to him, the command has deployed personnel including Counter Terrorism Unit, Intelligence Unit, Disaster Management, Private Gas Companies Unit and Anti-Vandals Unit to protect the critical national assets and infrastructures across the length and breath of the state.
“To achieve maximum security during this yuletide period, our command has deployed about two thousand five hundred personnel to provide adequate security accros the nooks and crannies of the state.
“As you know, we don’t only concentrate all our resources in Ibadan alone, but also into the inter lands of the state. We have deployed our counter terrorism personnel, Intelligence Unit, Disasters Management and others to sensitive and flash points across the length and breath of the state.
“Also, our Armed Squard has been going round mounting surveillance and patrol 24 hours daily on flash points in the state to make sure every intending criminals are arrested and prosecuted. So, the people of the state should go to sleep with their two eyes closed.”
The NSCDC boss while thanking the people for their unflinching cooperation, supports and partnership in the year ending, urged them to go about their normal businesses without fear of molestation.
He said: ” We are prepared to provide adequate security for the people during and after this festive season. Also, we are into joint deployment and collaboration with other security agencies like the military, Police, DSS, Amotekun and even the local hunters. We took the collaboration in order to achieve the greatest synergy in providing adequate security for people of the state.”
According to him, the command is not limiting security surveillance to roads linking Oyo State from Lagos and Ogun States alone, but every other roads linking the state.
Earlier in his welcome address, Dr Adaralewa admonished members of the command to use the occasion provided by the festive season to foster stronger bond, forge new friendship and reinforce the spirit of brotherhood that defines the organization.
He encouraged them to embrace the spirit of celebration that fills the air, set aside worries monetarily and allow the sensation of the yuletide season to fill their hearts.
He thanked the sister security agencies including the Police, DSS, FRSC, Correctional Service, Air force and others for gracing the end of the year party of the command,
In their good will messages, the security agencies thanked Dr. Adaralewa for the hand of fellowship extended to them, saying the development will strengthen the existing relationship between them all.
