In compliance with the directive of Oyo State First Lady ,Mrs Taminominini Makinde , December 13, 2023 marked another historic event in Ibarapa East Local Government, Eruwa, as the wife of the Executive Chairman, Ibarapa East Local Government, Mrs Victoria Obalowo led women in the council area on a campaign against Gender-Based Violence(GBV).
A release by the Head of Information Unit of the council, Adeyemo Adeleke indicated that the campaign centered on the various types of violence being faced by the girl- child and women in our society such as Child Labour, Sexual Abuse, Battering , to mention but few.
The rally started at the Local Government headquarters and then moved down to the town and major markets in the local Government area.
In attendance are the Executive Chairman, Hon. Gbenga Obalowo, Political Head Administrator, Hon. Ojebola Yunus, Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs Omolara Adetoro Aremu, Acting HLGA, Mr Biodun Sadiq, Director of Education and Social Services, Alhaja Mulikat Alabi, Acting DESS, Mr Oketayo Abraham, Deputy Director of Education and Social Services ,Mr Mustapha , Head of units,and members of the Education and Social Services Department among others.
